Main Emission Sources

Estimated total TPM, PM10 and PM2.5emissions in year 2005 were:

Open sources (paved and unpaved roads, construction, agriculture, forest fires, etc) make up 94% of total particulate matter, 90% of total PM10 emissions and 64% of total PM2.5 emissions

The distribution of emissions among contributing source categories for the two PM size fractions is illustrated in the pie charts below.
