Safety and security: Transport Canada's top prioritiesTransport Canada's top priorities are the safety and security of Canada's transportation system. But improving safety is a shared responsibility, so Transport Canada works closely with the transportation industry and other partners to promote a safety culture. For example, it conducts research on how accidents happen and helps organizations develop and implement safety management systems to identify and minimize the possibility of accidents. Through a process of risk management, Transport Canada also devotes resources to help prevent accidents in areas where they are most likely to occur. Our combined efforts are paying off as Canada continues to improve upon its impressive transportation safety record. |
