Kim Garritty

Kim hails from Saskatchewan and has slowly worked her way to the East Coast with many stops & detours. She studied at Carleton University in Ottawa, then jumped across the big pond to Europe with a degree in history & political science (and a very large backpack). In 1999, Kim tucked the backpack in her closet and traded the big sky of her native Prairies for the harbour views of Halifax. There she received her journalism degree from the University of Kings College.

She started out as a newspaper reporter at the Chronicle Herald, then switched to CBC Radio in Halifax. Soon she was off to CBC Radio in Saint John where she found herself driving to work in the moonlight as news editor for Information Morning. After a year of becoming a gardening fanatic and exploring the parks & shores of beautiful southern New Brunswick, Kim returned to Halifax (with an occasional stint back in Saint John as a producer). Are you still with me ?

Seen here on the shores of Clam Bay, Nova Scotia with her pet quahog in hand, she spends her days digging up stories for Maritime Noon as associate producer. Kim dusts off her backpack from time to time (it's right next to a beat up flamenco shoe). She's not ready to ditch either, just yet.

Kim is currently on temporary assignment producing Information Morning In Saint John (but retains tribal loyalties to Maritime Noon).
