What
Games are held?
The BC Games Society works directly with Host Communities for the BC
Summer Games and BC
Winter Games. We also assist our partners the Northern BC
Winter Games Society, the BC Seniors Games Society and BC Disability
Sports and their Host Communities in
staging the Northern
BC Winter Games, the BC
Seniors Games and the BC
Disability Games.
When are
the Games and when are the next Games?
The
BC Winter and BC Summer Games are held bi-annually in late
February and late July, respectively. The Northern BC Winter
Games are held annually in early February, the BC Disability Games
are held annually in early July, and the BC Seniors Games are held
annually in late August or early September. Click

How are
sports selected to be included in the BC Summer or BC Winter Games?
Several criteria are used to select sports for the BC Summer and
BC Winter Games. Key criteria include the commitment of the
provincial sport organization to integrating the BC Games in their
athlete, coach, and officials development, participation in all
regions of the province, and facilities available in the Host
Community. Sports are
classified as core sports or optional sports. More

How can I
participate in the BC Summer or BC Winter Games?
The BC Games Society works in partnership with the provincial
sport organizations to determine eligibility criteria for the each
sport at the BC Summer and BC Winter Games. The provincial sport organization and their representatives
determine the dates and locations of zone qualification events
for the Games. Eligibility
rules for sports in the Games are published in the BC Games Rules
on our website prior to
each BC Summer or BC Winter Games. Additional information can be obtained from the
Provincial Sport Organization representatives listed in the
current Rules.
