Summary

MERX Canadian Public Tenders has about 1 500 open tender opportunities each day from federal, provincial and municipal government agencies and departments across the country as well as universities, school boards and hospitals.

Currently, Government of Canada departments and agencies as well as other participating public sector entities advertise their tender opportunities on MERX. Departments must use MERX for requirements subject to any of the trade agreements. Some are using it as well for other purchases. PWGSC also uses MERX to advertise requirements for printing services estimated at $10 000 or above, most goods and services estimated at $25 000 or above. It advertises requirements estimated at $100 000 or above for construction and leasing. It also advertises requirements estimated at $84 000 or above for architectural and engineering consulting and services related to real property.

MERX Canadian Public Tenders posts about 1 000 new Canadian opportunities each week. MERX Canadian Public Tenders delivers more than 1 500 document orders and amendments each business day.

  • The Government of Canada estimates that they procure $12-15 billion per year in goods, services and construction;
  • Most provincial and federal government agencies and departments across Canada are required to advertise opportunities over $25 000 on MERX, with many others choosing to post contracts under that dollar value;
  • The purpose for posting opportunities on MERX is to ensure open and fair competition.

In addition to the thousands of tender opportunities available from all levels of government you can also search MERX Canadian Public Tenders for open International Opportunities. The Canadian Commercial Corporation (a Government of Canada agency) provides MERX Canadian Public Tenders with filtered international opportunity notices that Canadian companies can bid on.

MERX allows businesses of all sizes to access contracting opportunities at any time and order tender documents using their comprehensive document delivery service. More recently, MERX has extended its service into the private sector.

The heart of our service consists of a searchable database of business opportunities and construction project news that is updated every weekday. The database includes contract opportunities and construction project news representing hundreds to millions of dollars.
