Est de la Minganie socio-economic development support fund - Component 1

The socio-economic development fund for Eastern Minganie has three major objectives:

• Stimulate job creation and improve infrastructures and basic services in the Aboriginal community and the municipalities concerned
• Promote the establishment of new businesses and the creation of long-lasting jobs
• Provide communities with the necessary professional resources to design and implement economic development projects

Component 1 – Studies and project support

This component aims to provide support for entrepreneurs in their economic-development initiatives, particularly in the sectors of harvesting and processing natural resources and tourism.

Eligibility Criteria

Target clientele

• The municipalities of Baie-Johan-Beetz, Aguanish, and Natashquan as well as the Natashquan band council
• Corporations connected with one of the above three municipalities or the band council
• Non-profit organizations and cooperatives with similar objectives whose head office is located in one of these communities or in the Montagnais community

Eligible Activities

Component 1 – Studies and project support:

Projects related to the following goals or any other study deemed relevant:

• Evaluation of a project's strength
• Evaluation of a project's technical or financial feasibility
• Definition and development of a concept
• Carrying out of market studies associated with an investment project

Summary

Financial assistance takes one or more of the following forms:

• 80% of the cost of a project in the case of a private profit-oriented company
• 90% of the cost of a project in other cases
