Ulnooweg Development Group Inc.

Ulnooweg is an Aboriginal Capital Corporation (ACC) which provides loans and business services to status Indians; members of the Federation of Newfoundland Indians; members of the Labrador Metis Nation; and members of the Labrador Inuit Association, living in the Atlantic Provinces.

Status Indians; members of the Federation of Newfoundland Indians; members of the Labrador Metis Nation; members of the Labrador Inuit Association, living in the Atlantic Provinces. Must be 19 years of age or older.

Lending Services

Aboriginal Youth Business Loan

Aboriginal business owners between the ages of 19 - 35 are eligible to apply for the Aboriginal Youth Business Loan. The maximum loan amount is $15,000 and can be used for anything except refinancing.  Fixed interest rate of 8.5%.

Ulnooweg Loan

Aboriginal business owners in Atlantic Canada are eligible to apply for the Ulnooweg loan. The maximum loan amount is $250,000 and can be used for any business need, including expansion, acquisition, and refinancing. Interest rate based on risk.

Business Resources

Business Services Program

The Business Services Program provides business advisory support in the Atlantic region. Business Service Officers work with Aboriginal entrepreneurs to provide professional advice in areas such as business planning, mentoring, marketing and research support, and business and financial management. Ulnooweg also assists entrepreneurs with accessing government funding and private sector loans to obtain the most desirable financing package.

Community Economic Development Initiative

The Community Economic Development Advisor provides business and economic development advisory support in the Atlantic region.  Its main goals are to provide economic development officer support, provide organizational support for economic development officers and provide regional economic development strategy support.
