The Aboriginal Peoples Collaborative Exchange program assists Aboriginal artists (individuals) or artistic groups from Aboriginal communities to travel to other Aboriginal communities to share traditional and/or contemporary knowledge or practices that will contribute to the development of their artistic practice. Aboriginal Business Canada is an Indian and Northern Affairs Canada program which promotes the growth of commerce as one means towards economic self-sufficiency for Aboriginal people. For eligible applicants, Aboriginal Business Canada provides financial assistance, information, resource materials and referrals to other possible sources of financing or business support. They also work in partnership with Aboriginal financial and business institutions, and with a range of other agencies, boards, and departments on initiatives that are helping to strengthen business skills and promote greater awareness of Aboriginal business achievement. The Aboriginal Skills and Employment Partnership (ASEP) program is designed to promote maximum employment for Aboriginal people on major economic developments across Canada and to help employers meet labour and skill shortages through training-to-retention plans.
Funds are available to incorporated partnerships between employers and Aboriginal representatives from communities affected by the project. The partnership must demonstrate that a minimum of 50 long-term jobs for Aboriginal people will be provided.

Through this program, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) helps to increase access to capital for Aboriginal entrepreneurs who want to start a small business or expand an existing business operating on or off a reserve in Canada. Entrepreneurs with a commercially viable business proposal, an acceptable level of management expertise and a demonstrated financial commitment to the business may be eligible for assistance. The loan can be used for acquiring fixed assets, financing franchise fees, covering start-up costs, developing new markets, or replenishing working capital depleted by capital expenditures.

The Canada Small Business Financing (CSBF) Program, under the Canada Small Business Financing Act, can assist businesses in obtaining term loans and capital leases of up to $250,000 to help finance fixed asset needs. The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) offers a comprehensive series of information and training sessions with the objective of enhancing skills and knowledge with respect to housing quality.
