Architectural and Engineering Services

Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) contracts for various real property architectural and engineering consulting services. The bulk of these required services are contracted on behalf of PWGSC Real Property Branch.

Summary

PWGSC contracts for various architectural and engineering consulting services related to real property. These include:

• professional and technical services in the fields of Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Landscape Architecture;
• services such as  - investigations and reports, feasibility studies, planning studies, functional programming, building condition reports, design and related services during construction, heritage restoration consulting, asbestos monitoring and abatement, and other environmental services related to real property projects;
• other related consulting services, such as real property cost consulting and project management support. 

Regional offices of PWGSC contract for the bulk of these services. The Real Property Contracting Directorate located in Gatineau contracts for services to be delivered in the National Capital Area (NCA). PWGSC Real Property Branch at the NCA headquarters is responsible for the establishment of policies, the development of national plans and for technical leadership.

How Consulting Services are Advertised

While architectural and engineering consulting services requirements at or above the NAFTA threshold of $84 000 are generally advertised on MERX -Electronic Tendering Service, those below this amount are generally sourced through the online system. PWGSC also makes use of standing offers, all of which are publicly advertised at time of solicitation.
