Strategic Infrastructure

The RCEDF expires April 30, 2009.

Summary

Under the management of the Regional Development Corporation, the purpose of the RCEDF is to provide funding for economic and social development activities that are consistent with the objectives of a regional Action Plan. The Action Plan, which was developed by the community to guide the implementation of the RCEDF, is a long-term initiative that identifies short, medium and long-term objectives to address the challenges facing the region.

The RCEDF is designed to be a complementary source of financial assistance to regular departmental budgets, other financial assistance programs and designed to support commercial and non-commercial initiatives. All initiatives must be submitted and sponsored by a department, an agency or Crown Corporation in order to be eligible for funding under the RCEDF.
