The Central Purchasing Branch of the Department of Supply and Services is responsible for the procurement of goods and services for all departments and agencies for the Government of New Brunswick.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Any vendor, whether a manufacturer, distributor or retailer are eligible to bid on goods and services tenders, regardless of their location.  
  • All manufacturers, distributors, agents and retailers wishing to sell goods or services to the provincial government of New Brunswick.

Summary

Through this branch, the Government of New Brunswick buys in the vicinity of $500 million worth of goods and services each year from the private sector.

The process for procuring these goods and services is defined by the Public Purchasing Act and Regulation as well as the various trade agreements that New Brunswick is a party of.  The goal of the branch is to maximize competition so as to achieve the best value for money while ensuring that all suppliers who wish to compete for government contracts have a fair and open opportunity to do so.
