To Whom Does This Apply?

Businesses which retail, wholesale, display, store, manufacture or supply firearms or ammunition must be licensed under the Firearms Act (Canada).

Summary

This document is based on information from the Government of New Brunswick (Services) Web site, February 2008.    

To obtain a Firearms Business Licence, the business security features and employee eligibility criteria, as set out in the Firearms Act (Canada) and Regulations, must be met.

Provincial responsibilities include the initial licensing of individuals who own or wish to own firearms, continuous eligibility reviews, transfer of firearms ownership, authorizations to carry and transport firearms, as well as the inspection and licensing of firearms businesses, gun clubs and shooting ranges.
