Print Publications
The Reference Library is organized in fourteen major subject headings. The publications are for on-site use only. However, during each visit you are permitted to make photocopies.

Major Subject Headings

This section contains information that is useful to all entrepreneurs and is non-sector specific.

2.  Economy
This section contains information that provides general information on economy.

3.  Financing
This section contains general information on what kind of financing there is available.

4. Franchising
This section contains information on franchising a business.

5.  Government, Departments, Agencies
This section contains information on governments including programs other than financing, plans and guidance.

6.  Human Resources
This category includes information relevant to human resources, labour, training, employment, workers, etc.

7.  Legal Issues
This section contains legal information such as regulations, precedents and related fields, including form of businesses and taxes.

8.  Persons with disabilities
This section contains government publications in Braille, large print, audio cassette and diskette.

9.  Planning
This section contains information on business plans, sample business plans, marketing plans, financial plans and human resources plans.

10.  Research and Development (R&D)
This section contains information pertaining to research and development, including invention of products, processes, and intellectual property.

11.  Reference
This section contains directories (distributors, manufacturers, chambers of commerce, etc), statistical information, trade shows, recent copies of business-related magazines and general information on government departments.

12.  Regional Information
This section deals with demographic and economic profiles of regions, investment promotion for Canada, New Brunswick and municipalities.

13.  Sectors
This section deals with sector specific information.

14.  Trade
This section includes information pertaining to national and international trade.

Public Access Workstations
To help with business-related research, our Reference Library is equipped with two computers accessible to the public for business research. Using electronic databases or the Internet will enable you to find information such as industry and company profiles, supplier or manufacturer listings, market trends, statistical information, international business practices and much more.

No appointment is necessary to use the workstations. All you have to do is sign in at the Reception  upon arrival. Our Information Specialist or a Business Information Officer will be happy to help you if required.

Electronic Databases
The Information Products System (IPS) was developed by Canada Business service centres to provide our staff, clients and regional access partners access to a wide variety of electronic information resources (databases). The system has both Internet resources and CD-ROM resources. Note that the databases are not accessible outside the Canada Business - New Brunswick service centre.
