The trade barriers database complements Canada's International Market Access Report (CIMAR). It is primarily targeted toward Canadian businesses that are investigating their export options and possibilities, in order to inform them of existing individual trade barriers they might encounter.

The CIMAR Trade & Investment Barriers Database is a tool for Canadian exporters and investors who are assessing their export and investment options. Specifically, it:

  • identifies commercial barriers in foreign markets to help Canadian businesses assess their export and investment options;
  • is searchable by sector, product code, country or keyword; and
  • provides easy-to-read, relevant information.
