Canada Summer Jobs is an initiative of the Summer Work Experience Program. It provides funding for small businesses with 50 or fewer employees, public-sector employers, and not-for-profit organizations to create high-quality summer job opportunities for students between the ages of 15 and 30.
Public-sector employers and small private-sector
employers with 50 or fewer employees are eligible for up to 50% of the
provincial/territorial minimum hourly wage.
Not-for-profit employers are eligible for up to 100% of the
provincial/territorial minimum hourly wage and mandatory employment related
costs.

Employers can begin to apply for Canada Summer Jobs starting February 1, 2008. The deadline for applications is February 29, 2008.
Applications will first be reviewed to ensure that they meet the basic eligibility requirements, and then they will be assessed using the following seven criteria:
