Through this branch, the Government of New Brunswick buys in the vicinity of $500 million worth of goods and services each year from the private sector.
The process for procuring these goods and services is defined by the Public Purchasing Act and Regulation as well as the various trade agreements that New Brunswick is a party of. The goal of the branch is to maximize competition so as to achieve the best value for money while ensuring that all suppliers who wish to compete for government contracts have a fair and open opportunity to do so.
