The Arts-by-Invitation Program is designed to promote New Brunswick by assisting the province's best artists to present work by invitation in New Brunswick and at out-of-province established arts events of national or international repute. Commercial or for-profit events are not eligible.

Eligibility Criteria

A professional artist is eligible to apply when he or she:

  • has resided in New Brunswick for the past twelve months;
  • meets the definition of a professional artist;
  • has been invited to participate in an arts festival, competition, or exhibition;
  • has achieved a high standard of excellence in an arts discipline; and
  • has received confirmation of participation/registration in an arts festival, competition, or exhibition.

Summary

An artist may receive up to $500 to defray travel costs to participate in an event held within New Brunswick and up to to $2,000 to defray travel costs to participate in an out-of-province event.

Payment of the grant is made as follows:

  • 70% of the grant will be issued on approval;
  • 30% will be forwarded upon receipt and approval of a final report including a financial report and the required receipts attached, within 30 days of completion of the event.
