The Potato Storage Management Centre is located adjacent to the Potato Development Centre at Wicklow, New Brunswick. This facility was established in 1982 to assist in the development of the New Brunswick Potato Industry, through research and demonstration activities related to storage management.

Potato growers, processors, agricultural chemical suppliers, consultants.

Summary

The facility consists of a complete Potato Quality Testing Laboratory and includes eight individual storage compartments with separate temperature and humidity control systems. Each compartment is capable of handling material either in pallets or bulk for research or demonstration activities.

The Potato Quality Testing Laboratory provides quality testing and analysis of tuber sucrose and glucose levels as well as processing chip and fry color, in support of the Potato Storage Management Centre Research Program. The Potato Quality Testing Laboratory provides direct services to growers with chip/french fry color, tuber sugar, and specific gravity testing.

The Potato Storage Management Centre Research Program consists of cooperative and partnership research projects with industry, processors, growers, and other departments in the development of storage management guidelines and production profiles of new varieties.
