Encounters with Nature: An Art Exhibit at MUN Botanical Garden
Time: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Location: MUN Botanical Garden, 306 Mount Scio Road
Description: Artist Florence Pinhorn, of Island Rock Studio will exhibit native species of flora, trees and shrubs of the natural landscapes as spotted by the artist in the valleys, woodland and hills around Winterton, Trinity Bay. Most are painted in vibrant oils in both realistic and impressionistic manners. On display at MUN Botanical Garden from May 2 – 28.

Regional MATE ROV Competition

Description: The Regional ROV Competition will take place from May 2-3, 2008 at the Marine Institute. Thirteen high schools teams from across the province will compete for their chance to attend the International Competition in San Diego, California. The event will begin on Friday, May 2 with the opening ceremonies, held at the MI gymnasium.

Friends of the Garden Spring Clean-up Postponed

Description: Friends of MUN Botanical Garden Annual Spring Clean-up Postponed

The annual spring clean-up (originally scheduled for Saturday, May 3) has been postponed due to the heavy snow accumulations at the Botanical Garden. The date has now been changed to Saturday, May 10 (weather-dependent).

Please meet in the parking lot across the street from the field centre (adjacent to the greenhouse) by 10 a.m. Dress comfortably and bring your own work gloves. The clean-up will be followed by a delicious potluck lunch. Everyone is welcome!
