Student Affairs Departments

The six departments within the division of Student Affairs and Services are:

1) Career Development and Experiential Learning -

Career Development and Experiential Learning encompasses a broad range of programs designed to assist undergraduates, graduate students and alumni of Memorial explore their career options, develop career competencies and gain career-related experiential learning. The department includes:

  • Centre for Career Development (CCD),
  • UC 4002Student Volunteer Bureau (SVB),
  • UC 4001Co-operative Education Services Centre (CESC), UC 4000

2) Counselling Centre

The primary function of the Counselling Centre is to help students solve their problems and to enhance their learning experiences. Most of the learning programs help students to develop their own unique abilities. The Centre also serves as a training centre for advanced students in a number of professions. Also, the Centre makes accommodations for students with disabilities. The department includes:

  • General Counselling

3) Housing, Food and Conference Service

Two types of housing are offered on campus. Traditional dormitory-style living is available in Paton College and apartment-style living is available in Burtons Pond Apartments. The department includes:

  • Paton College
  • Off-Campus Housing
  • Conference Services
  • Burtons Pond Apartments

4) Student Health Services

The staff at Student Health are available to provide comprehensive health care and to assist students in taking responsibility for their own health.

5) Student Success Programs

The Student Success Programs are responsible for the development and administration of programs and activates which facilitate the involvement, integration and retention of students. This department includes:

6) University Bookstore
The University Bookstore is the on-campus site for text, reference and general reading. The Bookstore carries stationery, school supplies, crested clothing, backpacks and memorabilia. Distance Education students are to order textbooks through the Bookstore website.
