Rod Taylor Appointed to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Tourism Commission

OTTAWA, April 16, 2008 — The Honourable Jim Prentice, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), today announced the appointment of Mr. Rod Taylor to the Board of Directors of the CTC.

"The CTC is continually striving to market and promote Canada as a world destination," said Minister Prentice. "I am pleased to welcome Mr. Taylor to this Board and know that his tourism vision will help the Board as it works to continue growing the Canadian tourism industry."

Mr. Taylor is currently the owner and operator of Uncommon Journeys Ltd., an adventure travel company offering dogsledding, hiking and canoeing adventures. Mr. Taylor is also President of the Tourism Industry Association of theYukon and an active member of numerous Yukon tourism industry organizations. Prior to starting Uncommon Journeys, Mr. Taylor worked for Canadian Outward Bound Wilderness School where he was Course Director and Instructor before becoming Branch Manager.
