Atlantic Metropolis Centre
A Centre for Excellence for Research on Immigration, Integration and Cultural Diversity
The Metropolis Centre in Atlantic Canada is a consortium of academic researchers,
government representatives, and non-governmental organizations dedicated to pursuing
policy-relevant research related to immigration, population migrations, and cultural
diversity. It pursues research agendas distinctive to the Atlantic region, as well
as research programs addressing the national policy priorities of
The Metropolis Project. The AMC is networked
with four other Canadian Metropolis Centres of Excellence in
Montreal,
Toronto, the
Prairies,
and
Vancouver, as well
as with the
international
arm of the Metropolis Project, involving
partnerships
with researchers, policy makers and community organizations in over 20 countries.

This Symposium was held on 30-31st August, 2011, at the Crowne Plaza hotel, Fredericton NB. It was a very successful event, with 65 participants from the government, NGO and academic secors. A report and the presentations will be available soon on this website- check back soon!

- AMC CALL FOR PROPOSALS 2010
The AMC is issuing the 2010 - 2011 Call for Proposals (CFP) for its Pilot and
Strategic Grant Competitions.
Strategic Grants - Maximum Value: $20,000
Pilot Grants - Maximum Value: $5000
This year we have introduced Cross-Centre Proposals. For more information,
please follow the link.
The AMC is also issuing Call for Proposals (CFP) for Knowledge Mobilization
Grants.
We expect to provide funding of $2,000 to $5,000 for 8-10 projects that focus upon
knowledge transfer.
There are multiple deadlines for this funding.

Annual Metropolis National Research Competition
The Metropolis Project is pleased to announce its third annual national research
competition.
This year, the research question is: From the point of view of governments and of
newcomers and minorities, are government-NGO partnerships the most effective model
for delivering services for integration and inclusion in Canada?
