Apply for Certification

Application Deadlines

The Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board meets four times a year to review applications for certification. Deadlines for the receipt of new applications are usually eight to nine weeks before a meeting.

Consult the Review Board Schedule of Meetings for precise meeting dates and the Review Board’s Certification Deadlines for precise deadline dates.

Who Can Apply?

Designated organizations apply for certification on behalf of donors or sellers. These organizations meet the necessary standards to preserve the cultural property and make it publicly accessible. Cultural Property Income Tax Certificates (Form T871) can be issued to both corporations and individuals.
