Francine Doucet and Scottie Monteith: Summer Students

The Inuit Summer Student Initiative, INAC and You Francine Doucet and Scottie Monteith were summer students with Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) in Iqaluit.

Francine worked in communications and human resources. What she learned, she applied to her college studies. "Plus everyone at INAC was friendly, welcoming and supportive - that makes a difference," says Francine. "I wouldn't think twice about working there again."

Scottie worked with mineral resources. "It was an eye-opener. I learned so much about Nunavut's mineral potential," he says. And now his eyes are open to a career in geographic information systems.
