Travel and Hospitality Expenses

On December 12, 2003, the Treasury Board of Canada announced a new policy which stipulates that all travel and hospitality expenses for selected government officials be posted on institutional web sites. While the requirement does not apply to Crown Corporations, CMHC is following the spirit of this guideline in disclosing information for key management personnel.

CMHC has policies governing the reimbursement of reasonable expenses necessarily incurred during travel on company business. CMHC also has policies governing hospitality, to ensure that hospitality is extended in an economical and affordable way when it facilitates CMHC business or is considered desirable as a matter of courtesy and protocol.

This section will continue to be developed and refined in the spirit of the policy, and will be updated every three months.

The following disclosure includes business expenses related to travel and hospitality for the following activities: Board of Director related meetings; corporate representation; business development and operational meetings. Information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act or the Privacy Act does not appear in this section.
