Climate Change
Contributing 25% of the total, transportation is the single largest contributor to GHG emissions in Canada. Following the Kyoto Protocol in 1997, Canada set up a consultation process (known as climate change issue tables for 15 major sectors) to develop solutions to address the climate change issue. The climate change table on transportation commissioned 24 studies and analyzed more than 100 options to reduce emissions from the sector.
