Searching with Keywords
CyberMuse links you to the National Gallery
of Canada's permanent collection. This virtual museum contains
information on over 45,000 artworks and their artists.
To find
the content you are interested in, you can specify keywords
and then search CyberMuse for matches.
For example, you can find images of artwork
by Claude Monet using the keywords "Monet", and
"Impressionism". Search results include all content,
from artists' biographies to audio and visual clips, that
matches the keywords you specify.
After you define the keyword search, click
the
button to begin the search.
If you want to start a new search, click
the
button to clear all the information you've defined. You
can then enter the information for the new search.
Keyword Search
In th keyword search box, type one or more keywords.
Looking for
From the list, select whether the
results must match all the keywords, any of the keywords,
or the exact keyword phrase as entered in the Keyword search
box.
For example,
suppose you type Claude Monet in the Keyword search box.
If you look for all words, then the results include only
content that matches both "Claude" and "Monet".
If you specify you are looking for any words, then the results
include content that matches "Claude", "Monet",
or both "Claude" and "Monet". If you
specify you are looking for an exact match, then the results
include only content that matches "Claude Monet".
Note: The
Looking for value works slightly differently if you specify
advanced settings. For information, see Refining Your Search
with Advanced Settings.
Results Per Page
From the list, select the number of results you want to
view on one page. If more results are found than can be
shown on one page, you can scroll through the additional
pages.
Only Show Results with Images
Select this checkbox to specify
that the results should include only content with images.
Some results do not have images associated with them. For
more information on why some artworks do not have images,
see the FAQ
section of this Help.
The checkbox is selected when a checkmark
appears in it. To select the checkbox, click it.
Click the checkbox again to remove the
checkmark.
