Project: Paleo-environmental records of climate change
Activity: National paleo-environmental records of climate change

This information represents activities in the Earth Sciences Sector Programs (2002-2006). Please refer to Priorities for information on current Earth Sciences Sector Programs.

With multi-agency partners, this research will prepare web-enabled national-scale Paleo- environmental reconstructions at 500 to 1000 year intervals since the Last Glacial Maximum (18,000 years B.P.) along with associated database for use by the climate change impacts community and paleo- climatic modelers. High-resolution reconstructions including error analysis and quality control will be prepared and provided for the last few centuries. The activity will also provide geoscience data for the modeling of tides led by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
