The media is invited to attend “Blueprint for the Future”, an Aboriginal Youth Career Fair hosted by the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation to be held in Yellowknife at the St. Patrick High School/Weledeh Gymnasium. Physicians, social workers, nurses and technicians will be hosting workshops throughout the day while health professionals will be available at the exhibit to answer questions students may have concerning their future.

MLAs Quit Smoking and Challenge Schools
The Honourable J. Michael Miltenberger, Minister of Health and Social Services, joins Norman Yakeleya (MLA, Sahtu) and Kevin Menicoche (MLA, Nahendeh) in challenging schoolchildren in their constituencies to commit to be smoke free. Both MLAs are also taking the challenge and intend to quit smoking. This event will be held at 12 noon, October 25.

Dr. Kami Kandola, acting Chief Medical Health Officer, is warning NWT residents that some ground beef products sold in the NWT with “best before” dates between June 15 and June 24, 2004 may contain E.coli 0157:H7 bacteria and should not be eaten.
