The Canada Revenue Agency is pleased to participate in this special
Government of Canada website to ensure a smooth implementation of
the GST/HST rate reduction.
To help consumers and businesses adjust to the 1 percentage point
tax reduction, this website explains how the tax cut will be implemented
and outlines the transitional rules. It also contains a series of
questions and answers on selected topics.
We hope you will find the GST/HST rate reduction information you
require on this site useful. The CRA also has a dedicated information
line to respond to questions from consumers and businesses across
the country. You can call us on regular business days, from 8:15
a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Our toll-free number is 1 866
