The purpose of the International Aviation Business Plan is to identify how the Branch contributes towards the fulfillment of the applicable key results identified in the Civil Aviation Framework for Canada - Flight 2005

The Role of the International Aviation Branch

The International Aviation Branch (AARJ) is responsible for providing advice and support on international civil aviation matters. AARJ participates in and coordinates technical input for the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and other international civil aviation bodies and provides strategic guidance to the Canadian Permanent Mission to ICAO. This Branch coordinates within Transport Canada Civil Aviation and inter-departmentally, other international aviation initiatives such as the North American Aviation Trilateral (NAAT) and bilateral/trilateral liaison requirements of a special nature. AARJ also provides a foreign liaison role with respect to technical visits by foreign delegations.

The International Aviation Branch concentrates its efforts on international issues which go beyond the immediate considerations of the operational branches. The Branch role supplements and supports the undertakings by other branches where formalities are required by international or State protocols.
