Our Organization

The Agency is headed by a Chief Executive Officer who reports to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Infrastructure and Environment. Senior level advice and direction are provided to CFHA through an Accommodation Board. This Board is jointly chaired by:

  • Assistant Deputy Minister Infrastructure and Environment ADM(IE); and
  • Assistant Deputy Minister Human Resources-Military ADM(HR-Mil).

The organizational structure of CFHA reflects the nature of its mandate and operations. CFHA's clients - military families living in Canadian Forces (CF) housing - are spread throughout Canada. For this reason, CFHA has designed a relatively flat organization, with Housing Management Offices (HMOs) located at 26 bases/wings across the country reporting directly to a Head Office (HO) located in Ottawa. This provides for short, direct lines of responsibility and accountability and assists in maintaining consistent national standards.

The Chief Executive Officer is supported by the Executive Services, a Comptroller and three General Managers:

  • Executive Services – Responsible for providing advice and support to the CEO in the areas of Defence liaison, Corporate policy and planning, Communications and Administration
  • Comptroller – Responsible for the Finance and Business management programs, and the audit function
  • General Manager, Corporate Services – Responsible for the Administration, Human Resources and Information Services functions
  • General Manager, Housing Operations – Responsible for the staff of the Housing Management offices on bases/wings, the repairs and maintenance of the housing stock, Technical services and the Customer Services function
  • General Manager, Infrastructure & Technical Services – Responsible for the long-term planning, rationalization and reconfiguration of the housing portfolio, to respond to evolving needs of the Canadian Forces.
