Information Sessions on the new 2006 Building Code

The 2006 Building Code is written in an objective-based format and includes over 700 technical changes.  Most of the requirements in the 2006 Building Code will come into force on December 31, 2006.  This transition period is intended to give building practitioners time to become familiar with the new objective-based format and the technical provisions. The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Building and Development Branch, held a series of Public Information Sessions across the province to introduce the objective-based format and highlight the major changes to the new Code. Details of the one-day Information Sessions held follow.
