Story Galleries – A Brief History of Vimy
The photo galleries provide a visual understanding of the events that took place at Vimy Ridge before, on, and after April 9, 1917. They are also intended to complement the information that already exists on our website and provide an overview of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, the competition that led to the creation of the memorial, its construction, its sculptor, the symbolism of the memorial, as well as its unveiling in 1936 and the Vimy Pilgrimage.
