Tourism account

There are two major tourism products providing national accounts-based tourism data. The tourism satellite account (TSA) has been published for the years 1988, 1992, 1996, 1998 and 2000. This account, which is based on the concepts of the System of National Economic Accounts (SNEA), was also published at a provincial level for the years 1996 and 1998. The national tourism indicators (NTI) provide a quarterly measure of tourism expenditures, gross domestic product (GDP) and employment. Tourism expenditures contain both domestic and international spending in Canada. Other tourism statistics available include government revenues attributable to tourism for the reference year 1998 as well as preliminary data from the human resource module to the TSA. See about the tourism account.
