Web applications for the Canada School of Public Service
Modernize language courses made up of text, audio files and video files to create interactive applications that allow students to save their answers and guarantee a follow-up on their learning... The task seemed nearly impossible, but our team put their noses to the grindstone for more than a year to deliver the Canada School of Public Service a Web learning tool that met their needs. The multimedia exercises can be shown in the classroom, printed or completed interactively by students on their workstations…

Commissioner of Official Languages site
Clean. Lean. Easy to find what you're looking for. That's what you notice when you visit the Web site of the Commissioner of Official Languages (OCOL). Our team reorganized the information in order to present it more clearly and internationalized the site. We also designed a new interface that is in line with Common Look and Feel (CLF) standards. TERMIUM® and Translation Bureau sites
These projects had two main goals: internationalize the TERMIUM® Extranet and Internet sites and the Translation Bureau site to make it easier to manage content (in three languages, for the TERMIUM® site) and bring the sites in line with CLF standards. Obviously, everything had to be of the highest linguistic quality. What a great opportunity for our team to make use of all its expertise! The TLS team worked tirelessly to meet the tight deadlines and to ensure that every stage of the project was a success:
- creation of new graphical interfaces
- reorganization of existing content
- production and translation of new texts
- development of a database containing the entire content of the sites
- design of the ASP pages
- strict control of the graphic and linguistic quality
The result – two attractive, user-friendly, perfectly functioning dynamic sites that meet CLF standards.
HTML in Arabic
Creating an HTML page is child's play! But creating a page to accommodate bidirectional content is another story! When an international agency asked us to incorporate Arabic content into its Web site, we were thrilled to take on this new challenge. A member of the TLS team and an Arabic translator from the Translation Bureau joined forces to produce complex bidirectional HTML pages. Another shining example of co-operation between translators and technolinguists!
