Early and Safe Return to Work (ESRTW) Policies
The second round of stakeholder consultations on the WSIB's revised draft Early and Safe Return to Work (ESRTW) policies ended on February 15, 2007. During the consultation period, we received 85 written submissions on the revised policies. We are currently consolidating all the input received from stakeholders and analyzing the results of the policy testing. The WSIB will integrate this analysis with other key organizational initiatives such as our Service Delivery Team Roles Review.

Following the first round of consultations in 2005, the WSIB made a number of improvements and changes to the draft policies based on the input we received from stakeholders. The policies were streamlined and simplified to ensure that their intent and direction is clear and unambiguous. They were also reduced in number from eight to six.
We are continuing to make refinements to the draft policies based on feedback received during the second round of consultations and findings from the pilot testing. The proposed revisions will be shared with stakeholders later this year.
A copy of all submissions received during the consultations is available in the WSIB's Reference Library. The library is located on the 17th floor of the WSIB's Head Office, Simcoe Place, 200 Front Street West, Toronto. The library's hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
