Project: Earth science for national action on climate change
Activity: Canada's landmass response to climate change from satellite records

This information represents activities in the Earth Sciences Sector Programs (2002-2006). Please refer to Priorities for information on current Earth Sciences Sector Programs.

Research aims to assess the response of Canada's landmass to climate change as captured by a long-term satellite earth observation records. Consistent long-term datasets from multi- satellite observations of high quality will be generated for 20 years. These data will be used for the first time to provide complete national wide assessments of climate change impacts based on a set of indicators such as land cover, phenological cycle, lake water temperatures, lake freeze-up/breakup dates, and albedo.
