Natural Hazards and Emergency Response
Partnerships

This information represents activities in the Earth Sciences Sector Programs (2002-2006). Please refer to Priorities for information on current Earth Sciences Sector Programs.

Most natural hazard information has significant provincial, territorial and/or other governmental department links. NHER Program partners with other ESS programs as well as a host of federal, provincial and municipal government agencies, academia and industry to ensure delivery of its outcomes.

For example, the program partners with federal and provincial emergency programs, federal and provincial agencies, and universities dealing with hazard mitigation, emergency preparedness and information dissemination, critical infrastructure custodians such as utility companies and transportation agencies, and municipal engineering and planning departments. Cross-departmental programs such as GeoConnections and GeoBase have a significant role in achieving program objectives.
