Air photos - the National Air Photo Library (NAPL) has over six million aerial photographs covering all of Canada, some dating back more than 70 years

Geodetic surveys - providing a national coordinate system which serves as a reference for all mapping, charting, navigation, boundary demarcation, crustal deformation, and other georeferencing needs

Forest fires - maps from the Canadian Wildland Fire Information System

Geological - some multicoloured maps are printed on quality stock, others are printed on demand; maps are also available in digital format as computer diskettes or CD-ROMs and, in some cases, released on the Internet

 

Geophysical - aeromagnetic, gravity and general geophysics

Topographic - The National Topographic System provides general-purpose topographic map coverage of Canada.

Topographic information - the Centre for Topographic Information is responsible for the acquisition, management and dissemination of topographic information for the Canadian landmass


Geomatics Canada - Geomatics is the science and technology of gathering, analyzing, interpreting, distributing and using geographic information. The objective of Geomatics Canada is to provide a reliable system of surveys, maps, remotely sensed data and geographically referenced information describing the Canadian landmass.
