What CED associates can do for you:


CED ensures that Quebec SMEs have access to other services by the intermediary of a network of collaborators that most of them are financially supported by the Agency. These collaborators are listed in office of principal clients they serve.

Entrepreneurs working in biotechnology or health industries

Centre québécois d'innovation en biotechnologie (CQIB)
Pre-incubation and incubation services for enterprises at the pre-startup and startup stages. Offers laboratories and offices to researchers-entrepreneurs and a bank of technologically advanced scientific equipment and tools to enterprises, on a shared-time basis. Fund for pre-startup biotechnology enterprises.

Technology or innovative sector entrepreneurs

Canadian Technology Network (CTN)
Owing to a national network of experts comprising in particular the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) and Canada Economic Development advisers, the CTN gives entrepreneurs at the startup stage access to competent resources for answers to their questions of a technological and commercial nature.

Inno-centre
Provides support and business counselling services for the startup and development of promising technological enterprises, chosen according to a rigorous process.

Multimedia entrepreneurs

Multimedia Experimentation Fund (MEF)
A joint initiative between CED and the Alliance numériQC, this program offers pre-startup support for entrepreneurs with multimedia projects including financial assistance, networking, access to computer and telecommunications equipment, coaching and assistance in developing a business plan.

Local small businesses

Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDC)
CFDCs have a mandate to contribute to the economic development of their communities through mobilization, co-operation and the creation of sustainable jobs and enterprises. Their operations are funded by the Gouvernment of Canada. Services offered to the enterprises include:

  • Access to funding
  • Technical assistance
  • Support for local entrepreneurship, including women and young entrepreneurs.

Rural Enterprise
Provides complementary assistance to support development and marketing of so-called niche products and services projects. The program is available through the Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) in the area.

Young entrepreneurs (between 18 and 35 years) in rural areas

Youth Strategy
Additional financial assistance in the form of personal loans to support the startup, expansion and consolidation of enterprises. This program is funded by Canada Economic Development and offered by Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs).

Student entrepreneurs

Association des clubs d’entrepreneurs étudiants du Québec (ACEE)
The Association creates student entrepreneur clubs and provides guidance and a network structure in CEGEPs and universities in Quebec in order to raise awareness among young people wanting to start a business and provides them with information and support.

Aboriginal enterprises

Aboriginal Business Service Centre (ABSC) - First People’s Business Association
Economic and financial referral services, business development, networking and selected training services and co-ordination of activities (seminars, symposia and conferences).

Aboriginal Business Canada - Industry Canada
Assists in developing a business plan, conducting feasibility studies, setting up new enterprises and marketing activities in domestic and international markets. Provides funding and assistance for enterprises through management and technical training.
