Statutory Publications

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What methods of payment are accepted for statutory publications?

A: Customers have several payment options:

  • cash and Interac -- if you order in person at 200 Vaughan St. in Winnipeg
  • personal cheques and money orders -- if ordering in person or by mail
  • credit cards (Visa or MasterCard Only*) -- if ordering in person or by fax, phone or mail

Q: Can I get access to statutory publications without paying a fee?

A: All statutory publications are available to the public online free of charge or:

  • at the Legislative Library, Main Floor, 200 Vaughan Street in Winnipeg;
  • at the Centennial Library in Winnipeg;
  • at the Legislative Reading Room in the Legislative Building at 450 Broadway in Winnipeg;
  • and in some provincial government offices and some university and college libraries across the province.

Q: Can I photocopy these publications for personal, educational or business use?

A: All statutory publications are under copyright by the Manitoba government. Small pieces of documents may be copied for personal use under some conditions. It is illegal to copy any of these documents for commercial use without written permission from the Queen’s Printer. To receive written permission or to ensure you’re not infringing on copyright, contact the Statutory Publications office for clarification.

Q: How long do I have to wait to get my order?

A: Delivery times depend on the number and availability of the publications. Most current, or high-demand publications can be picked up directly from the Statutory Publications office in Winnipeg. Phone, mail, fax and Internet orders can be shipped within the same day, depending on the availability and quantity of the documents requested. Older publications, or those in less demand, may have to be reprinted or copied and could take a few days to be packaged and shipped. All on-line publications in PDF format are, of course, immediately available for downloading to subscribers via the Internet.

Q: What happens if I want to return an order from Statutory Publications?

A: All sales are final.
