Prima Ballerina, filmmaker, author, actress, choreographer... Toronto’s Veronica Tennant is one of the most active members of the Canadian arts community. Her connection to the National Arts Centre goes way back... in fact, all the way to the beginning. On June 2, 1969, the Centre’s opening night – a promising young ballerina starred in Kraanerg, a specially commissioned work performed by The National Ballet of Canada. Since then, she has performed countless times in Ottawa as one of Canada’s leading ballerinas. Veronica’s involvement with the NAC continues to this day. She brought grace and style to the launch of the NAC’s youth education website ArtsAlive.ca and combines her passion for filmmaking with her very active role as member of the NAC’s Board of Trustees. Veronica Tennant – another reason why we truly are Canada’s National Arts Centre.
