April 7, 2006 - The Environmental Appeals Board is one of the many organizers of the 2006 Alberta's Environment Conference taking place May 2-5, 2006 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton. Alberta's Environment Conference 2006 will profile key environmental initiatives, activities and policies of government departments and agencies in the areas of air, land, water, waste and climate change with a focus on sustainable resource and environmental management. The conference will focus on: Leading the Way - New approaches/strategies to manage Alberta's environment; updates on policy development, new programs and future trends; Working Together - Partnerships/collaborations for sustainable resource and environmental management; and Making a Difference - Information on new research, environmental monitoring and reporting, stewardship activities and evaluation results. Managers, decision-makers, and educators and others from industry, municipal governments, First Nations, non-government environmental organizations and the public are invited. The conference will include presentations, discussion panels, poster sessions, and exhibits. It will include theme-based sessions and opportunities for feedback and discussion. There are also 4 workshops and 9 field trips.
