Government Procurement Conference of the Americas

Atlanta, GA – November 1-3, 2005 - Looking for new export opportunities in the Americas? The Government Procurement Conference of the Americas, in Atlanta, Georgia, will be where Canadian companies can learn more about how and what governments are purchasing.

Exporters who attend the conference will learn about government procurement practices and get industry perspectives on doing business in countries throughout the Americas. Speakers will address topics that include how the Internet is making government procurement more transparent and fair, the impact of free trade agreements, and opportunities for small business participation in government procurement.

Participants can also arrange one-on-one meetings with representatives of government agencies to get more information on possible business opportunities and advice on how best to pursue them.

Homeland Defense Symposium 2005
October 24-27, 2005 - Colorado Springs

CCC is pleased to co-host a reception with the Consulate General of Canada at Homeland Defense Symposium 2005. This year, the Homeland Defense Symposium 2005 has declared October 26 as Canada Day, demonstrating a strong security partnership between Canada and the United States and the reception, held that day from 3:30-5:30 in the Canada Booth will celebrate that honour.

The Consulate General of Canada in Denver will host a Canadian Pavilion at next week's Homeland Defense Symposium 2005 in Colorado Springs at the Broadmoor Hotel, from October 24 - 27, 2005. This national conference and trade show-sponsored by National Homeland Defense Foundation, U.S. Northern Command and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)-will address a range of homeland security issues, such as North American border security, space and missile defense, terrorism, weapons of mass destruction and intelligence sharing, as well as the roles of the medical community, national first responders, higher education and the media.

Hugh O'Donnell, President of CCC, and Tom DeWolf, Director of Business Development and Sales, will join Minister Peterson in Mumbai and New Delhi on the Canada Trade Mission to India.

The mission is an opportunity for Canadian companies interested in selling their products and services to India to take advantage of a tailored program that consists of plenaries, seminars and hospitality, and networking events designed to introduce companies to local government decision makers as well as Indian businesses and Canadian companies that are active in the region.

CCC in collaboration with Business New Brunswick (BNB) and Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and working with SNC Lavalin will present A Global Contracting Event at the Hotel Beauséjour in Moncton, N.B. Exporting businesses in Atlantic Canada can learn about SNC Lavalin’s pre-qualification of its sub-contractors and the range of services that CCC, BNB and ACOA offer to support exports. Program begins with a networking event at 9:30 am on March 31st and runs all day with opportunities for one-on-one meetings with presenting organizations throughout the afternoon.

02.02.05 - AFCEA West

The Canadian Consulate General in Los Angeles has organized a Canadian Procurement Seminar at the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) West Conference. The seminar will be held at 4:00 p.m. on February 2. It will feature a presentation by CCC Sr. Business Development Officer Norm Weir on the role of CCC in U.S. government procurement. The seminar is open to all participants of the AFCEA West Conference. For more information about the seminar, please visit the Canadian Consulate General in booth 1918.

AFCEA West 2005 is the largest event on the West Coast for communications, electronics, intelligence, information systems and imaging, as well as military weapon systems, aviation, shipbuilding and more.


01.18.05 - Trade mission to China

CCC’s president, Hugh O’Donnell, will be joining International Trade Minister Jim Peterson as he leads a trade mission to China from January 18 to 25, 2005. The mission will help Canadian business further explore the immense commercial opportunities in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong. CCC’s strategic focus on China is evolving as this market opens to Canadian infrastructure and environmental solutions that CCC can support with government-to-government arrangements.
