Human Resources
Canadian textile producers recognize that a well-educated and highly
skilled workforce is essential to the industry's performance and
competitive advantage. Award-winning skills development programs -
created through collaborative industry efforts - are used extensively in
plants and other facilities to ensure Canada's textile industry workforce
remains up-to-date and at the leading edge of workforce learning.
- The Textiles
Human Resources Council (THRC), created in
1994, actively seeks to ensure that textile workers acquire world-class
skills. With the conviction that the best human resource skills and
practices are essential to the attainment of world-class excellence by
the Canadian textile industry, the mission of the THRC is to identify
and foster the development and introduction of such skills and practices
through the joint efforts of employees and employers. THRC is dedicated to
upgrading essential skills; providing technical training; developing a
training culture within the industry; and promoting a better
understanding of the textiles industry.
