Projets d'évaluation de la surveillance
L'un des critères de formation professionnelle des épidémiologistes de terrain consiste à entreprendre une évaluation de la surveillance d'un événement de santé.

Le cours d'automne fournit aux épidémiologistes de terrain l'occasion de présenter les résultats de leurs projets d'évaluation.

Parmi les projets qui viennent d'être menés à bien, mentionnons ce qui suit :

2001

Eleni Galanis (PCET 2000-2002) et ses co-auteurs ont remporté le Foege Award for Outstanding Public Health Intervention à l'occasion de la International Night 2001 de la Conférence EIS. La présentation avait pour titre : " Oculo-Respiratory Symptoms Associated with Influenza Immunization, Canada, 2000 ".

2000

Diane MacDonald (PCET 1999-2001) et ses co-auteurs ont reçu le John Snow Award for Excellence in Science à l'occasion de la International Night de la Conférence EIS 2000 et le Foege Award for Outstanding Public Health Intervention à l'occasion de la conférence TEPHINET 2000. La présentation avait pour titre : " Escherichia coli O157:H7 Outbreak Linked to Salami, British Columbia, Canada, 1999 ".

1998

Peter Buck (PCET1997-1999) et ses coauteurs ont remporté le prix John Snow Award for Excellence in Science de 1998 pour leur présentation intitulée : " Would you like a little Salmonella with your sandwich? " à l'occasion de la International Night de la Conférence EIS 1998. Il s'agissait du premier article canadien primé.
