PREMIER RECOGNIZES KICKING HORSE CANYON WORKERS

Project Site 15 km east of Golden – Transportation Minister Kevin Falcon looks on as Premier Gordon Campbell acknowledges the contribution of the 250 workers involved in the Kicking Horse Canyon Project. Premier Campbell and Minister Falcon toured the second phase of the upgrade being done to improve the safety and efficiency of approximately 26 km of the Trans-Canada Highway from the junction of Highway 95 in Golden to the western boundary of Yoho National Park.

VICTORIA – The Ministry of Transportation has completed the second round of consultations on the access and interchange improvements to the Port Mann Bridge and Highway 1 between Vancouver and Langley.

LOCALMOTION FUNDING NOW AVAILABLE FOR COMMUNITIES

VICTORIA – Communities across B.C. are now eligible to access the new $40-million LocalMotion Fund, which will help build cycling and pedestrian pathways, improve safety and accessibility, and support children’s activity programs in playgrounds, Community Services Minister Ida Chong has announced.

B.C. AND LIL'WAT FIRST NATION SIGN SEA-TO-SKY AGREEMENT

VANCOUVER – B.C. and the Lil’wat First Nation have signed an agreement allowing the Province to widen the Sea-to-Sky Highway through portions of the Lil’wat claimed traditional territory, while enabling the Lil’wat to pursue employment, training and economic development opportunities.

NEW OFFICE HELPS PROCESS DEDUCTIBLE CLAIMS QUICKLY

DUNCAN – The Ministry of Transportation has opened an office in Duncan to provide another way for motorists to submit claims for vehicles damaged recently by loose gravel from the sealcoat on Highway 18.

CANADA AND B.C. INVEST $70.8M IN HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS

OTTAWA – The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, and British Columbia Transportation Minister Kevin Falcon, announced the completion of construction on phase 1 of the Kicking Horse Canyon section of the Trans-Canada Highway in B.C.
