Camping

B.C. Forest Service recreation sites are located throughout the province and provide rustic camping facilities. If you wish to use a Forest Service Recreation Site for commercial purposes you must contact the local Forest Service district office first for approval.

Wildfires have impacted a number of provincial parks, and some may be closed to public access. To find out which parks are closed or have use restrictions, use the BC Parks website listed below. Use the "Park Finder" service to link to details on each park.

When camping on public forest lands, remember:

• If you pack it in – PLEASE – pack it out!
• Food and garbage attract animals. Store food and refuse away from camp. Pack out your waste.
• All camps must have toilet facilities. All toilet facilities should be greater than 30 metres (100 feet) from any water.
• Boil water for two minutes before drinking.
• Use dead or downed wood for firewood. Stay clear of trees marked with “wildlife tree” signs!
• Leave your campsite clean, safe and sanitary.
