A New Campaign Underway
The Ministère has launched a new media campaign targeting gamblers at risk of developing a problem with excessive gambling and their families. The campaign's three radio messages aim at showing that prompt action can prevent pathological gambling if the indicators that occur in the most common situations of daily life are recognized.
New developments
Thanks to SIMASS, the new information system for access to specialized services, the content of the Access to Special Medical Services website has been improved. The site now gives access to up-to-date information about waiting lists for different types of surgery (hip, knee, and cataract operations, and inpatient and outpatient surgeries) for each region and institution involved. The precise and detailed information that Québec provides makes it a leader among the provinces of Canada in transparency on wait times for specialized medical services.
Knock out smoking !
Thousands of Quebecers will commit to not smoke for at least six weeks, from February 15 to March 27, 2008. If each year, 2 out of 3 participants successfully take up the Challenge, just imagine the number of people who are making the move toward a smoke-free life. Register now !

Vaccination campaign
The vaccination information campaign 2007-2008 is launching under the theme Influenza get it once, and you'll get vaccinated. The ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux recommends an annual vaccination in order to protect you and those you care about.
